The big weekend: Stoke by Nayland September 2017

The festival reached a climax with some huge events including Mahler’s stupendous 9th Symphony and Bach B minor Mass.

We kicked off with Gwyneth Herbert at Colchester Arts Centre on Wednesday and gained momentum with the world-famous King’s Singers on Thursday and Mahler’s incredible 9th Symphony on Friday, culminating in Bach’s great masterpiece the B minor mass on Saturday evening.

Finally, on Sunday afternoon, the ever-popular Festival Finale bought together our work in primary and secondary schools with the amazing horn player Alec Frank-Gemmill, the festival orchestra and Come & Sing choir.
