Harriet Mackenzie and violin

International soloist Harriet Mackenzie has put together a fantastic programme including the famous Chaconne by Bach and a fascinating piece by Deborah Pritchard, who will introduce her amazing graphic scores.

One of our favourite venues – a beautiful, simple and intimate church with probably the best view in Essex, looking over the Abberton reservoir towards Mersea and the sea.

Harriet Mackenzie has performed across five continents. Her recordings, including concertos with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Nova and the English Symphony Orchestra, have received international acclaim, including ‘Editor’s Choice’ in Gramophone Magazine. She has recorded on the NMC, Discovery, Nimbus and Dutton labels and has broadcast on BBC Radio 3, Classic FM, Radio London and Hungarian National Radio.

Mackenzie plays this alternately elegiac and passionate music with a burning commitment and intensity that composers usually dream of… a wonderful performance of a wonderful work… very strongly recommended.”
