Orlando Jopling is a conductor and cellist. He founded two opera companies; Tête à Tête and Stanley Hall Opera, commissioning over 15 new operas during his six years as Music Director of Tête à Tête and several new translations as Musical Director of Stanley Hall Opera.
His other conducting work includes the RPO, Savoy Opera, ECO, Schönbrunn Festival Orchestra, Independent Opera, Savoy Opera and Travelling Opera
He is Principal Conductor of the 143-year-old Royal Orchestral Society.
As a cellist he regularly plays concertos and chamber music including over 100 recitals as part of his ‘Cello Pilgrimage’, and regularly guests with the London Symphony Orchestra. He occasionally composes music for TV and has re-orchestrated seven operas. He has worked as arranger with a range of musicians including Sinead O’Connor, Martha Wainwright and Anthony Marwood.
