Thank you so much to everyone who contributed to an absolutely wonderful festival, full of musical inspiration in beautiful venues. The sun shone throughout and misty autumnal Essex beguiled us all.
We were so thrilled that almost all of the concerts had capacity audiences, and that you all enjoyed the music so much. Thank you all for your support, and huge thanks our Friends, sponsors, funders and volunteers without whom we could not have put on the festival.
There are too many wonderful musicians to thank individually, but for this post we have chosen a picture of Elena Urioste, whose five beautiful concerts, superlative technique, natural and inspiring musicianship and above all warmth and generosity of spirit left a lasting impression on so many people.
There is just one further performance this year. Vernon Ellis has invited Elena Urioste and Tom Poster to give a recital in his drawing room in Kensington, to raise awareness of Roman River Music. The date is Sunday 13th December, with drinks and canapés from 6.30pm. Tickets are £25, every penny will go towards Roman River Music’s education programme, as Elena and Tom are playing for free and Vernon is giving his house for free. Booking by cheque only, made payable to QGT Concerts and sent to 49 Queen’s Gate Terrace, London SW7 5PN. The trustees, Orlando and the team will all be there – come and join us for a special Christmas celebration.
Otherwise we look forward to seeing you on 5 March, 14 May or at the festivals, and thank you all for your wonderful support.
