Bernstein’s roof-raising West Side Story Dances is the centrepiece of our jubilant, audience friendly festival finale. Street Orchestra Live join forces with choirs from local primary schools, and talented young musicians sitting side-by-side with the professional musicians, for music by Beethoven, Johann Strauss, Puccini, Dvorak, Monteverdi, Gershwin, Andre Previn, John Williams, Salsa Celtica and Richard Rogers.

Our packed Colchester Weekend Finale showcases the education and outreach work that takes place alongside the festival each year and in schools across the Borough of Colchester and beyond. There’s the chance for talented young musicians to play with the world-class professional musicians hand-picked by Orlando Jopling, and to bring their youthful zest to a wide range of familiar and unusual works.
